STATE FAIR follows the adventures of the Frake family at the 1946 Iowa State Fair. Seeking blue ribbons, the family finds much more, as young Wayne and Margy are surprised by love, and the allure of farm life and close community infects everyone. Featuring some of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s best music, including “It’s a Grand Night for Singing,” “All I Owe, I Owe Ioway,” and the rousing “Our State Fair,” STATE FAIR is an upbeat, affirming, and eminently enjoyable trip back to a simpler time in America.
