Picture

How do I register my 5th Grader? Is there a deadline?

All participants must be fifth graders enrolled at the Weston Field School or residents of Weston, MA. You can register your child by clicking the above buttons in the yellow box to the left of the Seussical logo. You may select to register online or to fill out the registration form and mail it to us with a check. Registration is open until all spots are filled, so make sure you register early to secure your childs spot!

Where do I find the rehearsal schedule? How do I find out about changes to the schedule?

The program schedule can be found here. Any changes to the schedule will be communicated by email to parents.

What is the cost and what does it include?

The registration fee is $275 and it includes a script, over 60 hours of musical theater instruction and rehearsals, the performance space and set, music, and the know how to put on an amazing show and provide a fantastic experience for your child. Costumes will be provided by families and instructions will go home with your child, but these cost will be kept minimal!

How do I apply for a scholarship for my child?

Please send an email requesting information on applying for a scholarship to Vallery at westonfriendlysociety@gmail.com. The deadline for scholarship applications is October 14, 2019 and all recipients will be notified by November 8, 2019.

What will my child gain from participating in the Friendly Kids program?

Your child will learn musical theater basics from professionals who know theater and who enjoy and have experience working with children. What does theater teach your child? So  much more than just acting, singing, and dancing. Theater teaches creative problem solving, teamwork, confidence, personal responsibility, and the list goes on!

What expectations for Friendly Kids have of my child?

No prior experience is necessary: 5th graders should be attentive, respectful and willing to work hard, learn and have lots of fun in the process! 5th graders should be at all required rehearsals including all of tech week and all performances (please see schedule) unless discussed and approved by the Friendly Kid production team. Conflict questions should be emailed to Vallery at westonfriendlysociety@gmail.com.

Will the show be supporting charity?

Yes, Friendly Kids will continue the 5th grade tradition of donating ticket proceeds from the show to Make a Wish foundation.

What if I have more questions?

Send an email with any and all questions to Vallery at westonfriendlysociety@gmail.com.
