SHE LOVES ME is based on the Mikos Lazlos play Parfuemerie (which also inspired beloved films like You’ve Got Mail and The Shop Around the Corner), She Loves Me is a charming romantic musical comedy set around a 1930s European parfumerie. Shop clerks Georg and Amalia often find themselves at odds in their professional lives; meanwhile, in their personal lives, both have responded to a “lonely hearts” ad in the newspaper, unaware that they are each other’s unlikely anonymous admirer. As these pen pals correspond through the seasons, their love story blooms while the other shop clerks manage their own personal relationships. With music and lyrics by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick (Fiorello!, Fiddler on the Roof), She Loves Me is sure to delight!

Amalia Balash
The eager new employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. Despite being a skilled saleswoman, she easily becomes intimated and nervous. Attractive, bright, and a lover of literature. SOPRANO (C4-B5). Age range: 25-40.
Georg Nowack
An established employee of Maraczek's Parfumerie, he resembles a hopeless romantic. Shy, intelligent, and soft spoken. TENOR/BARITONE (B2-F4). Age range: 25-40.
Ilona Ritter
Employed at Maraczek's Parfumerie. She is sexy and learned in the ways of romance, but longing for something more from the game of love. MEZZO SOPRANO/BELTER (F#3-E5). Age range: 20-35
Steven Kodaly
A well respected and liked employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. Though he is considered dapper and occasionally charming, he is more of a shallow womanizer. TENOR (B2-A4). Age range: 25-40.
Ladislav Sipos
Not the brightest employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. A confidant to Georg, he is an optimistic family man who looks like a huggable father. BARITONE (A2-E4). Age range: 30-50.
Mr. Maraczek
Owner of Maraczek's Parfumerie. With a commanding presence, his dedication to the trade is rivaled only by his faithfulness to his wife. BARITONE (B2-C4). Age range: 50-65.
Arpad Laszlo
Delivery boy at Maraczek's Parfumerie. His exuberance is infectious and commitment to his job remarkable. He is ambitious and adorable. TENOR/BARITONE (B♭2-E4). Age range: 16-20.
Waiter
Featured ensemble role. A somewhat intense headwaiter who insists upon maintaining a romantic atmosphere in his restaurant at all costs. TENOR (B2-B4). Age range: 30-45.
Busboy
Featured ensemble role. A clumsy server frequently raising the ire of the headwaiter. Dancer. Age range: 18-30.
Ensemble
Shop customers, restaurant patrons, townspeople, Christmas carolers. Seeking strong singers and actors who are comfortable with movement/dance. ALL VOCAL PARTS NEEDED.
